Updated Dates - Old Forty Foot Road Closure & Detour (August 31, September 5-6)

Per PennDOT: Old Forty Foot Road will be closed between Rittenhouse Road and Sumneytown Pike, starting Thursday (August 31) for stormwater pipe replacement along Old Forty Foot Road. A detour will be in place using Rittenhouse Road and Bustard Road. The detour will be in effect on Thursday, August 31, and Tuesday and Wednesday, September 5 - 6, weather permitting. See map depicting the route.

Local access will be maintained up to the construction zone. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because backups and delays will occur. 


North Penn School District Property Taxes - Discount Ends August 31st

Reminder: The discount period for the North Penn School District property taxes ends August 31st. Payments made in person or via drop box must be received on or before August 31st.  US Postal Service postmark is used as proof if dated on or before August 31st. Payments can be made at 1804 Robin Drive, Hatfield. The tax collector's hours will be Monday through Friday daily, from 10 AM to 5 PM through August 31st. 

Act 7-2023 - Tax Relief Act Signed

On August 4, 2023, Governor Shapiro signed into law Act 7-2023 (formerly known as H.B. 1100), titled Tax Relief Act - Supplemental Senior Citizen Tax Reduction, Property Tax and Rent Rebate and Filing of Claim.  Act 7 is an expansion of the Property Tax and Rent Rebate (PTRR) Program for seniors 65 and over and those who are 50 and older and have been widowed or who have a disability. This was the first expansion of the program since 2006. Pertinent changes for this Property Tax and Rent Rebate are:

  •  increases the maximum rebate from $650 to $1,000.00;
  • increases the household income limit from $35,000 to $45,000;
  • establishes a yearly increase in income allowance that is equal to the Consumer Price Index (CPI).

This applies to claims for rebate for rent or property taxes payable during calendar year 2023 and after.


Budget Work Session Meeting Dates 

The upcoming 2024 Budget Calendar is quickly approaching. The first budget work session will be held on Wednesday, September 20. All budget work sessions will be held at 6:30 pm. The public is encouraged to attend these public meetings, which will take place at the Township’s Meeting Hall, 1090 Troxel Road, Lansdale, PA 19446

  • October 4th
  • October 18th
  • November 1st


Upcoming Meetings

  • Planning Commission will meet Monday, September 11, at 7 pm
  • Environmental Advisory Council will meet Tuesday, September 12, at 7 pm
  • Board of Supervisors will meet Wednesday, September 13, at 7 pm
  • Open Space and Parks Advisory Committee will meet Monday, September 18, at 7 pm

These meeting take place in the Meeting Hall Building of the Towamencin Municipal Complex, located at 1090 Troxel Road, Lansdale.

Cancellations:
The Zoning Hearing Board will not meet in September.

Employment Opportunity - Administration and Communication Coordinator

We are seeking a full-time Administration and Communication Coordinator to provide support to the Director of Administration. The ideal candidate must possess a strong mix of interpersonal, organizational and writing skills. The candidate will be detail-oriented and have experience creating effective visual presentations, including social media and website content. This role will regularly interface and work together with Township staff, the public, elected officials, committee members and other municipal agencies. This role will expand the Township’s communication footprint by regularly engaging the Community by sharing information in a clear and concise manner (news, events, projects, objectives) through various forms. 

A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred with emphasis in communication or marketing, supplemented by five or more years of progressively responsible administrative and communication experience, municipal experience preferred; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience.

Position includes excellent benefits with a competitive salary commensurate with qualifications, work schedule 8 am – 4:30 pm.
