Grist Mill Park
Grist Mill Park, located in the north-central part of Towamencin Township, encompasses large open fields, meadows, wooded stream valleys, wet lowlands and small ponds. The headwaters of the Towamencin Creek are here. At almost 54 acres, Grist Mill is a linear park with large open spaces at the ends.
The largest area, an almost 9 acre section at the western end adjacent to Forty Foot Road and Allentown Road, is an active recreation area of grass playing fields. The remainder of the park at the eastern end is primarily a passive natural area winding through the Grist Mill residential development. The active area is mainly used for youth soccer programs coordinated by the Towamencin Youth Association (TYA).
When not in use for the youth athletic activities, the fields are open for all residents to enjoy, exercise or practice their ball skills. Groups exceeding twenty-five (25) persons need to obtain a Parks Facilities Use Permit from the Township Manager's Office in advance. Download and view the Park Permit and Pavilion Rental information and permit forms.
The entrance to the active area is from Allentown Rd., just east of Forty Foot Road. There is on-site parking at the entrance for users of the fields. Grist Mill Park's GPS Location is 1611 Allentown Rd, Lansdale, PA 19446.
