New Director of Planning, Zoning, and Code Enforcement
On Monday, April 13, 2026, Henry Sekawungu joined the Towamencin team as the new Director of Planning, Zoning, and Code Enforcement. He was appointed at the Board of Supervisors’ March 6 meeting.
Henry is bringing a strong foundation in municipal planning, zoning, and development, with over 30 years of local government experience. He previously served as Cheltenham Township’s Director of Planning and Zoning. Prior to that, Henry served as the Assistant Director of Planning and Municipal Development for Norristown. Henry received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Messiah College and holds a Master’s Degree in Economic Development from Eastern University.
Henry shared, “I am grateful for the opportunity to serve our residents and contribute to our community. I look forward to streamlining procedures and implementing policies that build upon the solid foundation already in place. Drawing on my experience in densely populated and developed areas, I understand that sustainable planning and development are essential for Towamencin's future. The smaller population, rich farmland, and open spaces present unique challenges as well as exciting opportunities for innovative and thoughtful planning. Last evening, I had the pleasure of taking a one mile walk through Fischer's Park. Based on my observations, this was a meaningful reminder of the need to prioritize community needs and values.”
We are eager to benefit from Henry’s expertise. Welcome, Henry!
