Retirement Commendation - Carolyn Shisler

On Wednesday, August 28, the Board of Supervisors recognized Carolyn Shisler, who after 18 years of service to the Community retired from Towamencin. In 2006, Carolyn began her career at Towamencin working part-time as the front desk clerk, but spent most of her tenure honing her skills, supporting the Codes and Zoning Department, retiring as Zoning/Code Enforcement Officer.

Over the years, Carolyn has been a trusted authority on Code and Zoning matters and considered a respected leader by her colleagues. Carolyn regularly collaborated with various Township Departments, including the Police and Fire Departments, and Public Works Department. She has been the go-to for residents, contractors and realtors providing guidance, by thoroughly reviewing specifications and requirements to help avoid issues down the road. During periods of transition, Carolyn consistently stepped up to maintain and advance the Code Department's operations – imparting her knowledge and experience to new employees and consultants.

The Board of Supervisors and Township staff thank Carolyn for her many contributions, dedication, and congratulate her on her retirement and express our appreciation for her many years of service to the Towamencin Community!

Senator Pennycuick Announces September Food Drive

Sen. Tracy Pennycuick will be hosting a food drive throughout September in honor of National Hunger Action Month.  Pennycuick’s district office will be accepting unexpired, non-perishable food items from Sept. 3 to Sept. 30. At the end of the month, food items will be donated to several local food banks within her district. The district office is located at 56 West 4th Street, Floor 2, Red Hill, PA 18076.  Food donations will also be accepted at Senator Pennycuick’s seven outreach locations during office hours only.

“Let’s come together to nourish our community,” said Pennycuick. “I invite you to participate in my office’s food drive this Hunger Action Month. Every donation, no matter how small, helps.”

At this time, we celebrate our many hard working Township employees, who keep operations moving forward on several fronts.  We hope our residents and staff enjoy the holiday weekend!
